Heart Failure Seminar: Focus on Assessment of HF Patients for Advanced HF Therapies

October 28, 2025 - October 28, 2025 | Virtual

Program

How confident are you in recognizing advanced heart failure? Knowing the early clinical indicators, understanding when and how to refer patients to advanced heart failure centers, and navigating the comprehensive evaluation process for advanced therapies are critical to improving patient outcomes.

This seminar is designed to equip the heart failure care team with the latest strategies for recognizing and managing advanced HF patients.

Intended Audience

This activity is intended for trainees, fellows, physicians, APPs, nurses, pharmacists and pharmacologists who care for patients with heart failure.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be better able to:

  1. Recognize clinical indicators of advanced heart failure and articulate the importance of early identification and timely referral to an advanced heart failure center.
  2. Describe the comprehensive evaluation process for advanced heart failure therapies, including identification of clinical red flags and contraindications to mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation.
  3. Explain the criteria and process for heart transplant listing and discuss key surgical considerations for both heart transplantation and durable mechanical circulatory support therapies (e.g., LVADs).
