HF Stats

HF Stats℠ provides essential heart failure data to clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and patients living with HF.

What is HF Stats: Heart Failure Statistics?

HF Stats is a program created by the Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA) that fills the gap in data and statistical analysis on the depth and breadth of heart failure and its impact on the health systems in the U.S. HF Stats is the go-to resource for the most up-to-date statistics on heart failure

HF Stats includes:

  • An annual Heart Failure Statistics report, published in the Journal of Cardiac Failure (JCF), written by accomplished industry leaders. The report is focused on a different topic and key statistic each year.
  • HFStats.org. The microsite provides a platform to easily access the reports, resources, and data curated by the report authors, as well as a searchable database housing downloadable data and statistics, with references built into the graphics and other materials. Researchers, clinicians, members of the press, and other HFSA members can use the database to download key facts and figures for use in publications, research, presentations, and social media.

Accessing HF Stats Data and Figures

Accessing the annual HF Stats Report

After the initial launch of a new HF Stats annual report, the report is available to the public in an open access format on the JCF website for 90 days. After that, it will only be accessible to JCF subscribers. HFSA membership comes with a complimentary subscription to the journal.

Accessing Data and Figures on HFStats.org

The ability to download graphics and the full slide deck on HFStats.org is an exclusive benefit for HFSA members. The microsite follows a simplified layout, separating facts and figures by categories within the annual report, and including a section on supporting resources like fact sheets and infographics. Each graphic or resource is marked with the correct references and is ready to use in one click after users login. Users may download pre-made images, slides, or share directly to social media channels. Finally, users can access the annual report and the summary of its top 10 key points via direct links.

Members of the press may gain access by contacting HFSA staff

Fact sheets and infographics are always free and available to the public and those without a membership. Make sure your HFSA membership is up-to-date so you have instant access when the stats are available.
