This session will provide an overview of lifestyle interventions in patients with heart failure.

In the first presentation, the speaker will discuss nutrition-related diagnoses (e.g., malnutrition) and dietary interventions in patients with heart failure, with a focus on malnutrition and cachexia. Barriers to dietary changes, such as food insecurity, will also be addressed.

The second speaker will discuss exercise training and physical activity strategies that can prevent and treat heart failure, including exercise prescription (aerobic vs. resistance) and tools to improve short- and long-term adherence. This speaker will also introduce the concept of responders vs. non-responders to lifestyle interventions and how to identify them.
