Mark Belkin is an Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He graduated medical school from Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL, and completed his residency, fellowship, and advanced heart failure training at the University of Chicago. His research focuses on invasive hemodynamics – from identifying hemodynamic markers in cardiogenic shock to individualize treatment decisions and prognosis for myocardial recovery, to improving the diagnosis and management of patients with dyspnea and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. He and his team aim to better understand the interaction between hemodynamics and myocardial energetics.
