Apply for the 2014 WomenHeart Science & Leadership Symposium at Mayo Clinic!

What: Heart disease is the leading cause of death in women and 42 million American women are living with or at risk for heart disease. More women than men have died from heart disease every year since 1984. Women heart patients can become community leaders on this vital health issue by applying to become a WomenHeart Champion volunteer!

If you know a woman living with heart disease who wants to help other women by becoming a WomenHeart Champion volunteer community educator, please ask her to apply today for the prestigious 2014 WomenHeart Science & Leadership Symposium at Mayo Clinic!

Or, if you are a woman heart disease survivor interested in establishing and leading a patient support group for women with heart disease at your local hospital through WomenHeart's National Hospital Alliance, click here to learn more and to apply!

Each year since 2002, 60 women heart disease survivors have graduated from the WomenHeart Science & Leadership Symposium and returned to their community to offer peer-to-peer support and education to women living with and at risk for heart disease. WomenHeart Champions, who are 660 strong across the country, also act as spokespersons for WomenHeart to raise public awareness about women’s heart disease.

Applications are currently being accepted for the fall 2014 WomenHeart Science & Leadership Symposium. Symposium fees, meals, and hotel accommodations are covered. Deadline for applications is September 5, 2014. Apply today to become a WomenHeart Champion or a Support Network Coordinator through a National Hospital Alliance member hospital!
