Earlier this year, HFSA announced a new addition to the JCF Family of Journals: JCF-Intersections. This exciting new JCF offering is an open-access journal focused on heart failure and its many intersections. The journal creates a diverse and inclusive forum that champions innovative discussions and highlights unique viewpoints, all while fostering scientific curiosity, knowledge generation, and dissemination.
Join the Conversation at JCF-Intersections
It has been said that some of the most powerful innovations emerge at the intersections of life—where different ideas, perspectives, disciplines, and cultures converge to empower creative minds and drive remarkable breakthroughs. JCF-Intersections spotlight these intersections to cultivate uncommon partnerships, novel viewpoints, and agile teams that influence the care of our patients, families, and communities. This journal serves as a platform for discussion, connection, and education—one that proudly promotes disruptive ideas, intellectual exploration, and even entertainment.
Paper types span from original investigator-initiated work to state-of-the-art reviews, expert perspectives, including those with a global viewpoint, early career and trainee spotlight pieces, and patient and patient-partner narratives. In addition, the journal has three other unique paper types for authors to submit to:
- Intersections in Advanced Heart Failure Training, which highlight innovative programs, novel approaches, and cross-disciplinary initiatives that are shaping the future of advanced heart failure training;
- Teachable Moments articles are high-yield clinical pearls from expert clinicians and educators in advanced heart failure; and
- It's Up For Debate presents paired articles offering distinct, and sometimes opposing, perspectives on timely and controversial topics in advanced heart failure. Two authors or author groups independently develop brief, focused manuscripts addressing different approaches, interpretations, or management strategies for a shared clinical or research issue.
To support our newest journal, all open-access fees are waived for the first year of publication.
The first set of accepted papers will be publishing this summer at onlinejcfi.org. The first full issue will publish in September 2025 and be celebrated at the upcoming HFSA Annual Scientific Meeting in September in Minnesota!
