HFSA Announces Selection of New Officers and Board of Director Members

WASHINGTON, DC (June 24, 2025) – The Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA) recently announced the selection of new officers and board members for the society with terms starting at the conclusion of the HFSA Annual Scientific Meeting 2025 (ASM), which will take place September 26-29, 2025 in Minneapolis, MN.

Michael Givertz, MD, FHFSA, of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, was selected to serve as President-Elect for the 2025-2026 cycle. Dr. Givertz will serve as President from 2026-2027 and Past President from 2027-2028. Kenneth Margulies, MD of The University of Pennsylvania Health will become the 2025-2026 President of HFSA at the completion of the 2025 ASM, with current President Michael Felker, MD becoming Immediate Past President. 

Nancy Sweitzer, MD, of the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, will serve as Treasurer from 2025-2027. 
 
Kavita Sharma, MD, of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, was selected as a new member of the Board of Directors.

Anekwe Onwuanyi, MD, of Morehouse School of Medicine, Mitchell Psotka, MD, PhD, FHFSA, of Inova Health System were selected to serve additional terms as members of the Board of Directors.
