Dr. Hsich is the Medical Director for the Heart Transplant (HT) Program at the Cleveland Clinic and specializes in heart failure (HF) in women, HT, and nuclear cardiology. She did cardiovascular basic science research both at the NIH and Tufts- New England Medical Center where she received the National Research Service Award for Individual Postdoctoral Fellows. She was appointed to The Cleveland Clinic in 2004 after completing her clinical training in advanced HF at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Her research centers on improving disparities in HF and HT, including NIH funding to study the impact of disparities affecting survival among advanced HF patients and HT recipients. She is focused on improving care for patients and is Chair of the Scientific Advisory Council for WomenHeart, a patient advocacy group that has representation in Washington, D.C. and presented on Capitol Hill the 10 most important cardiovascular questions for women (10Q Report).
